STAAR Testing – District Level
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released spring 2022 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) results for Grades 3-8. The results include exams in mathematics and reading for grades 3–8, 5th and 8th grade science, and 8th grade social studies. Here is graphic of the results shown 2 ways.
How the Data is Typically Discussed
TEA and the District tend to show results cumulative from Masters, to Meets and Masters, to Approaches and Meets and Masters. Fail data has been added for completeness in the view.

This view shows the Fails plus the Approaches in order to demonstrate what percentage of students do not meet the STAAR performance standards.
COVID lockdowns can explain the rise, but the District Administration needs to put actions and lead measures in place to reverse the trend and improve on 2019 results.
